RALEIGH, N.C. – Sophomore Barend Botha tied for eighth place to lead Toledo to an eighth-place finish on Saturday at North Carolina State's Stitch Intercollegiate. The tournament was played at the par-72, 7,287-yard Lonnie Pool Golf Course.
Botha finished at one-over par 217 (71-74-72) and was just five strokes behind medalist Quinn Riley of Duke (70-71-71). Riley's play propelled the No. 46 Blue Devils to the tournament title with a 54-hole total of three-under par 861.
Junior NJ Botha carded Toledo's best round of the day with a two-under 70. He tied for 47th place at 11-over par 227 along with senior Lukas Clark (74-80-73) and David Amm (72-82-73).
