Rockets make believers of their "starving" city

At long last, the Glass Bowl was half full Friday.

Let your hair down, Toledo fans.

The Rockets are headed to Motown.

With many warily waiting to see it to believe it, a scattered but spirited crowd watched Toledo — heartbreakers for so many seasons — earn one of its most rewarding wins in program history.

Believe it, the Rockets stood tallest when the stakes were highest, their 37-10 licking of Western Michigan clinching the school’s first trip to the Mid-American Conference title game since 2004.

“This team was starving,” senior running back Terry Swanson said after emerging from a wall-rattling locker room.
