Rochester, Mich. - The Toledo women's swimming and diving team fell 218.50-80.50 to Rutgers and 182-117 to Oakland today, but saw continued improvement in the second weekend of the season. The Midnight Blue and Gold recorded five top-three finishes and saw junior Bec Welke win the 100 breast.
"We had a lot better spirit and attitude today," head coach Jonas Persson said. "We saw a lot of fight in our races. Our team is young and this weekend they gained the experience of swimming tough back-to-back meets. We're battling a lot of injuries, which is having an impact on the team.
