Clarksville, Tenn.— Despite a heroic two-out home run in the top of the ninth from freshman John Servello, Toledo fell to Austin Peay, 8-7, in 10 innings.
The Rockets took the lead after a four-run fourth inning, but the Governors scored four times in the bottom half to answer right back. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Servello sent a ball over the left field fence to keep UT alive. Austin Peay's Imani Willis singled to left field in the bottom of the tenth to bring in the winning run.
Senior Sam Shutes started the game for the Rockets and freshman Bryce Davis, senior Alex Wagner, junior Nate Haugh, and junior Luke Schaefer all saw time out of the bullpen.
