BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Toledo softball ended the Blazer Classic on Sunday with a 4-3 setback to North Dakota.
North Dakota took a one-run lead in the third inning on a fielder's choice, but Toledo answered with three runs in the fourth inning. Junior Riley Mohr drove in the Rockets' tying run, 1-1, with a one-out double. Freshman Kendra VanderLugt's singled to give Toledo a 2-1 advantage. Freshman Sidney Griffith's single extended the Rockets' lead to 3-1.
The Fighting Hawks evened the score with two runs in the fifth and scored the game-winning run in the seventh on an error.
