TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team tried to rally in the sixth inning but fell 3-2 in the opening game of Wednesday's doubleheader, before falling 1-0 in the nightcap to Central Michigan to close out a three-game series at Scott Park.
Jenna Kroll blasted a solo home run to kick off Game 1 before the Chippewas took the lead in the second inning off a two-run dinger by Emily Bracamonte, the younger sister of Toledo head coach Jessica Bracamonte. CMU added a run in the fifth before Toledo closed the gap at 3-2 in the sixth.
