Rockets come back in 2nd half, beat Buffalo

AMHERST, N.Y. — The University of Toledo men’s basketball team overcame a 12-point second-half deficit to top Buffalo 71-69 on Tuesday at Alumni Arena.

Jonathan Williams scored five straight points to end the game, including a running layup with 1.4 seconds remaining that gave Toledo the victory.

The win was an important one for the Rockets (15-9, 6-5 Mid-American Conference), who made up ground on all of their West Division competitors. UT entered the night in fourth place in the West, but Central Michigan, Ball State, and Northern Illinois all lost Tuesday night, pulling UT into a three-way tie for first place in the division.
