TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior forward Stephanie "Stitch" Currie broke a 1-1 tie with just over three minutes remaining in regulation to give Toledo a 2-1 victory over Ball State at Paul Hotmer Field on Sunday.
The game was scoreless until Ball State found the back of the net at the 83-minute mark. But the Cardinals would only hold the lead for 19 seconds as senior midfielder Claire Cahalan scored from 40 yards out to tie the score at 1-1. Minutes later, Curie took a pass from freshman midfielder Olivia Dualt, moved past three BSU defenders, and pushed a shot past the goalkeeper.
