When he steps onto the Savage Arena court next week for the first official practice of the 2018-19 season, University of Toledo freshman AJ Edu will do so with experience that not many incoming college freshmen can match.
Edu, who was born in Cyprus and whose mother is from the Philippines and father is from Nigeria, had the opportunity to play for the Philippines national team in the FIBA Under-18 Asian Championships this August.
At 6-foot-10, Edu is an intriguing international prospect after spending his high school days at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College in England.
Edu showed off his promise at the Asian Championships as one of the top performers in the tournament.
