YORKTOWN, Ind. – Junior Pimchanok Kawil matched her career high by tying for second place and Toledo finished fourth in its season-opening tournament on Tuesday at Ball State's Cardinal Classic. Kawil carded an even-par 216 (71-71-74) at the par-72, 6,074-yard Players Club to finish in a three-way tie for second, trailing only Akron's Jacinta Pikunas' six-under par 210 (66-72-72).
The Rockets dropped one spot in the team standings in the final round and posted a 22-over par 886 (291-289-306). Indianapolis captured the team title at one-under par 863 (283-286-294).
"We played great yesterday but today was disappointing and that happens sometimes in golf," Head Coach Nioole Hollingsworth said.
