Recruiting is a fickle business.
Coaches can put all of their energy and resources into a single player, only to have him say no and render all of their time useless. Another player can commit on the spot or decide to attend a school after being lightly recruited.
Jaylan Ouwinga does not fit in any of the aforementioned boxes. The Grand Rapids Christian forward was identified by the University of Toledo as a must-get in the class of 2024, and he made sure Tod Kowalczyk, Justin Ingram, and the rest of the UT coaching staff weren’t wasting their time.
