Persistence is a valuable tool across virtually all professions.
For college coaches, that determination and resolve is indispensable.
Enter the case of Walter Offutt and EJ Farmer. Offutt, a University of Toledo men’s basketball assistant, stayed in constant contact with Farmer, a talented (and impressionable) prospect from Cleveland Heights, and it paid off.
“Coach Walt’s relationship is great,” said Farmer, who committed to Toledo on Saturday. “It’s only going to get better.”
The tweet Farmer sent out Saturday morning revealing his decision confirmed UT’s coup. According to Triple Double Prospects, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard is a borderline top 10 player in Ohio and the third-ranked shooting guard in the state for the class of 2021.
