KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Toledo men's tennis team closed out the first day of action at the Mid-American Conference Invitational on Friday with five doubles victories.
"We feel pretty good about our start of the weekend," said head coach Al Wermer. "We talk about a lot of things which are in a doubles team's control, like energy and communication. We've got a long ways to go, but ours was awesome today."
Senior Danilo Vukotic and junior Filip Zupancic fought their way to the Flight 1 doubles championship match, posting wins over Ball State's Danilo Kovacevic/Thibault De Negri and Binghamton's Michael Pawlowicz/Tiago Lourenco with scores of 8-4 each.
