As an elementary school student in Perrysburg, Chris D'Appolonia quickly became a fan of two things: football and the University of Toledo.
Nearly a decade later, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker became a college football recruit at Seneca Valley (Pa.) High School. Despite moving back to Pittsburgh, where D'Appolonia was born, his dream school was still Toledo.
And when the Rockets offered him a scholarship in June, it didn’t take long to give an answer.
