A Kaayla McIntyre layup barely beat the final buzzer and gave the University of Toledo women’s basketball team a 69-68 overtime win over Western Michigan on Saturday at Savage Arena.
A Toledo timeout with four seconds left in overtime advanced the ball to midcourt and Mikaela Boyd found McIntyre streaking into the lane on the inbounds pass. McIntyre calmly caught the ball, squared up to the basket, and converted the layup to give Toledo its ninth straight win over Western Michigan.
McIntyre had a monster game in the middle for Toledo with 25 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four steals in her 42 minutes of action.
