CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo safety Maxen Hook has been named the Mid-American Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance at Northern Illinois, the league office announced on Monday.
Hook made a game-high 13 tackles, nine of them solo in Toledo's 13-6 victory against the Huskies, his third performance of double-digit stops this year. His outing included a tackle on a 4th-and-1 rush in the fourth quarter, with NIU driving in Toledo territory looking for the tying score. He also broke up a pass in the win.
The New Palestine, Ind. native helped the Rockets' defense force six turnover-on-downs on Saturday, including three in the game's final three minutes.
