For five seasons, Akron and Ohio traded winning the Mid-American Conference, a trend that continued in 2014, when Western Michigan and the University of Toledo ran ahead of the pack.
In 2015, however, there wasn’t much of a hierarchy in the MAC. Ten of the league’s 12 teams won between eight and 12 conference games, the difference between the top and the middle barely visible.
Through nonconference play this season, the MAC appears headed for another wide-open race for the league title. A look at the league’s 12 teams as the MAC season looms:
