TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo's Lauren Kilgore earned her first-ever Mid-American Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. Kilgore shares the weekly recognition with Miami's Nicole Maier.
Kilgore had an outstanding first meet of the new year, leading the Rockets to a 170-128 victory over Indianapolis on Saturday. The Niles, Mich. native won the 100 freestyle (50.44), 200 IM (2:02.21), and 200 medley relay, and was runner-up in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.61) against the Greyhounds. Kilgore's 200 IM time surpassed the previous pool record bet by UM's Margrett Kelly (2:02.88) that was set back in 2003.
