HILLSDALE, Mich. // WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Senior Laura Nicholson broke the program record in the 1500m event to lead the Toledo track and field team at the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Nicholson broke the tape at 4:07.17, a time that currently ranks fourth in the NCAA, 17th-fastest in NCAA history and bested the previous school record by three seconds. The senior placed second in the event in a highly competitive national field. Sophomore Lianna Surtz recorded a final time of 4:23.27 while senior Alex Bauer had a final mark of 4:26.
