ATHENS, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team rallied late to score in the eighth and ninth innings, but the comeback bid fell short in a 5-3 defeat to Ohio at Bob Wren Stadium on Sunday.
The Rockets (20-24, 13-11 MAC) could not overcome a slow offensive start and a four-run deficit as the Bobcats (14-25, 9-15 MAC) took the rubber match of the series.
"It's disappointing to come out and hit the way we did today, after slugging it all over the yard yesterday," said Head Coach . "We had chances to score and just didn't, especially in the fifth inning when we had second and third, nobody out and did not score.
