TOLEDO, Ohio - Junior forward JT Shumate was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career after helping Toledo to a pair of road victories last week. Shumate averaged 23.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 1.5 bpg and shot 69.2 percent (18-of-26) from the field, 70.0 percent (7-of-10) from three-point range and made all three of his free-throw attempts.
A Newark, Ohio native, Shumate capped off his week by pouring in a season-high 29 points and grabbed a team-best nine rebounds in the Toledo's 91-78 victory at arch-rival Bowling Green.
