TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior infielder Jeron Williams was named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday following an outstanding weekend at Northern Illinois.
This is the second weekly honor for Williams this season. He shares this week's honor with Miami's Evan Appelwick.
Williams was terrific last weekend in Toledo's series sweep of Northern Illinois, hitting .533 and slugging .867 while setting the tone for a UT offense that averaged 10.0 runs per game. The nation's top base stealer, Williams was a force on the basepaths all weekend long, going a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen-base attempts.
