EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Janelle Noe finished fourth in 4:10.83 in the 1500m semifinals at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. today. Noe's time qualified her for Saturday's finals and beat her personal record by six seconds.
"Honestly, I was just going out there and trying to stay within striking distance of the top-six or- seven for automatic qualifying," Noe said. "I just kept telling myself to hang on and focused on staying in that top-seven group, and then made a move in the last 400m to stay solid."
Noe's strategy today was similar to how she's ran all season: stay with the lead group and turn up the heat in the final stretch.
