It took one game for Ari Wideman to see the power of Toledo’s culture, and that winning is contagious for the Rockets.
In the season opener, UT trailed James Madison 33-13 at halftime. But a program that won a school-record 58 games over the previous two seasons was undaunted, as the Rockets outscored James Madison 47-16 in the second half, limiting JMU to 14.8 percent shooting.
“I looked at coach [Tricia Cullop] after the game and was like, ‘I don’t know if very many teams in the country could do that,’” said Wideman, who is in her first season as a UT assistant.
