Major League Baseball franchises are already keen on Garret Pike.
There has been a revolving door of scouts visiting the University of Toledo right fielder this winter, setting their GPS on Scott Park to see what Big Ten schools missed out on.
“Scouts want to see him go out there and have another good year stat-wise and build off his resume,” Toledo coach Rob Reinstetle said. “They all know he’s an accomplished, good hitter. He showed power last year, which was really good to see. This year, I think his athleticism will be more on display because he’ll have a chance to steal some bases and show that he’s very well-rounded.
