The 2018 Toledo football season reminds us of the old saying: If you expect nothing, you will never be disappointed.
This is the other side of that.
Many fans are disappointed, the Glass Bowl half empty, so to speak, because by the standard of the last decade, a year that fittingly concludes on Black Friday has felt bargain rate.
If the Rockets cast aside one-win Central Michigan as expected, the reigning conference champions will finish 7-5 and tied for second in the MAC West.
Yawn.
We get it.
But for those feeling bummed, sometimes a step back doesn’t hurt.
