One of the most important offseason decisions University of Toledo coach Jason Candle made was giving the go-ahead to purchase…urine tests.
While attending a sports medicine conference, Adam Barta heard a pitch for a product called InFlow, a small device that is placed inside a urinal that gives real-time feedback on a person’s hydration level.
Barta — UT’s assistant athletic director for sports medicine and the head football athletic trainer — thought they were a good idea, and Candle agreed. Now, they’re inside each urinal in the Glass Bowl locker room.
“We always try and put things in front of our players to have healthy reminders of what needs to happen to play at your highest level,” Candle said.
