Midway through the third quarter of the University of Toledo's blowout win over Central Michigan, tempers flared following a Toledo punt return.
It started with some individual pushing and shoving and talking back and forth near the Central Michigan sideline and escalated into a full-fledged brawl with players from both sidelines rushing onto the field.
It was an unfortunate incident between the two teams and when it was all broken up, the officials had a lot to sort out as punishment for the melee.
When it was all reviewed, the result was the ejection of two Central Michigan players – George Douglass and Kobe Lewis – as well as blanket unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on the entire roster of both teams.
