AMHERST, N.Y. — The University of Toledo men’s basketball team stewed for three days following Thursday’s loss to middling Northern Illinois.
And then it did something about it.
The Rockets got back on the winning side of the ledger with an 85-79 victory at Buffalo, finally breaking free midway through the second half.
Toledo led 37-33 at halftime and only 49-48 with just over 11 minutes left before a 4-minute stretch that featured a 12-0 UT run and five Buffalo turnovers.
The starting five all scored in double figures, led by Sonny Wilson’s career-high 20 points and nine rebounds.
