DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The University of Toledo couldn’t overcome a double-digit deficit for a second consecutive night.

On Saturday, the Rockets trailed by 11 in the first half, and UC San Diego extended it to 41 after halftime en route to an 80-45 victory in the Boardwalk Battle championship game.

The Tritons began the second half on an 11-0 run and outscored UT 46-20 in the final 20 minutes.

Toledo’s offense had been an efficient machine in the first two games in Florida, as the Rockets averaged 92.5 points with 34 assists and nine turnovers.
