DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — It was all systems go for the Toledo Rockets on Thursday, not far from Florida’s Space Coast, as UT overwhelmed Stetson in the Boardwalk Battle.
The Rockets bewildered Stetson with a virtually unbeatable blend of offense and defense, leading by as many as 35 in a 103-78 victory at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.
UT was nearly flawless in the first half, shooting 60 percent from the field, 8 of 15 from 3-point range, and scoring 18 points off 11 Stetson turnovers.
Hubbard had 15 points in 12 minutes. Eight different Rockets scored and five had at least one steal.
