FIRST QUARTER
It was a dream start for Toledo, which went 69 yards in eight plays, scoring a touchdown on fourth-and-2 from the 4-yard line. Then Northern Illinois threw a pick-six on its second offensive snap.
The Rockets continued the flurry of offense on its second possession, another 69-yard drive, this time on 10 plays with Jerjuan Newton scoring on an 11-yard pass.
UT had 165 yards, averaging nearly 10 yards per play.
