DEKALB Ill. — A 2-2 record is not what Toledo, the coaches’ preseason favorite to win the Mid-American Conference West Division, had in mind back in October.
But with just two games remaining on the schedule, despite only losing a total of four quarters in four football games, and outscoring opponents 145-99, that’s exactly where the Rockets find themselves. Last week’s 27-24 loss to Ball State shut the door on any remaining MAC West title hopes in 2020, shifting the program’s focus toward getting back on track.
Saturday, Toledo travels to Northern Illinois with another opportunity to earn a statement win following a disappointing loss.
