Toledo’s players, coaches, and fans wish they were in a different city awaiting the NCAA tournament.
A putrid free throw shooting night against Akron derailed that scenario. They shouldn’t give up on making positive memories just yet, however, because the Rockets welcome Dayton to Savage Arena on Wednesday with an opportunity to secure one of the best wins of the Tod Kowalczyk era.
The Flyers were the first team out of the NCAA tournament and have a plethora of signature victories this season, including a buzzer beater against Kansas. If UT can knock off Dayton, a team that has refused to play the Rockets, it can spark momentum and extend the season.
