BUFFALO — In a matchup of the Mid-American Conference’s only unbeaten teams, the resourceful Toledo Rockets proved too talented and too deep for Buffalo.
Through three quarters.
But football is 60 minutes, not 45. And Toledo found out the hard way on an unseasonably warm late-October Saturday at UB Stadium.
“There was a stretch in the third quarter to the fourth where we weren’t our best,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said. “We had a couple three-and-outs, and they had a couple timely third-down conversions that they turned into touchdowns. Ultimately, in the end, it allowed them to have a comeback and bit us in the backside.
