For University of Toledo senior Tre’Shaun Fletcher, the timing could not have been worse.
When the Mid-American Conference player of the year saw his knee buckle under him in the conference tournament quarterfinals it altered the Rockets’ postseason trajectory and put him behind the eight-ball in pursuing his professional basketball aspirations.
Just as his NBA Draft buzz was building and his team was contending for a MAC tournament title, Fletcher found himself in a holding pattern. Now, instead of potentially hearing his name called in Thursday’s NBA Draft or earning an invite to the NBA Summer League, he is in California rehabbing a serious knee injury.
