Former Toledo standout Mitchell named finalist for NFL defensive rookie of the year

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback and former University of Toledo standout Quinyon Mitchell was named a finalist for the 2024 Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award on Thursday.

The 6-foot, 193-pound defensive back was one of five finalists for the award, including teammate and fellow cornerback Cooper DeJean. Los Angeles Rams defensive end Braden Fiske and linebacker Jared Verse, along with Miami Dolphins linebacker Chop Robinson, were also finalists.
