Toledo’s former starting quarterback Dequan Finn appears to have won the starting job at Baylor for the upcoming season, per multiple online reports that surfaced Monday.
The 2023 Mid-American Conference MVP won the job over Sawyer Robertson, the redshirt junior signal caller who made four starts for the Bears last season.
Finn (6-foot-2, 206 pounds) was a three-year starter at Toledo, where he passed for 7,074 yards and 63 touchdowns, rushing for another 1,840 yards and 25 TDs. Last season, Finn threw for 2,657 yards with 22 TDs to nine interceptions and ran for 563 yards and seven scores, all while leading the Rockets to an 11-3 season and a MAC Championship game appearance.
