INDIANAPOLIS — Speaking to a couple dozen reporters from a podium on Thursday, Quinyon Mitchell said he didn’t come to the NFL combine to be mediocre.
He was in town to break records.
On Friday, Mitchell didn’t run the fastest 40-yard dash time in combine history, but he was the second-fastest cornerback and the fastest-ever Toledo player, clocking in at a blazing 4.33 seconds, strengthening his rise up NFL draft boards. He followed it Saturday with 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, the most among cornerbacks.
“Making statements and proving myself,” Mitchell said, expressing his goals.
