TOLEDO, Ohio - Former Toledo Softball coach Cheryl Sprangel has been named to the 2022 class of the Mid-American Conference Hall of Fame, the MAC office announced today. Sprangel will join 11 other inductees at the induction ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio later this spring.
In recognition of the 50-year anniversary of the passing of Title IX, this year's class features individuals from each member institution that have contributed to the advancement of women's athletics.
Sprangel was a trailblazer for women's athletics at the University of Toledo, becoming the first Rocket head coach of a women's sport to win a Mid-American Conference Championship.
