LATROBE, Pa. — Ola Adeniyi was undoubtedly the breakout star of the 2018 preseason. The rookie outside linebacker out of Toledo had three sacks in four games, two forced fumbles and generally wreaked havoc against just about every offensive tackle he encountered.
It was looking as if he had earned a spot on the 53-man roster until a hamstring injury late in the final preseason game against Carolina put everything he had worked for in doubt.
“It definitely hurt,” Adeniyi said. “I was definitely upset. I went home thinking I was going to get cut because of that.
