A four-run sixth inning powered by three of the University of Toledo’s five home runs helped elevate the Rockets’ baseball team to a 7-6 victory over Ohio State on Wednesday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus.
Freshman outfielder Cade Konczak’s solo blast off of Buckeyes reliever Jake Johnson with two outs in the sixth ultimately served as the game-winning run. The Rockets benefited from back-to-back home runs off the bats of Lake grad Scott Mackiewicz and Anthony Wayne product Garret Pike to tie the game at 6 off of reliever Tyler Kean with one out in the inning.
