The University of Toledo women’s basketball team knows how to win games.
In the simplest terms, that’s why the Rockets are 16-5 overall, 8-3 in the Mid-American Conference, and tied for second place as the season navigates toward the stretch run as UT takes on Old Dominion Saturday in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.
Toledo has played in eight games decided by five points or less this season, winning six times. Dating back to the first of their three consecutive MAC championships, the Rockets are 21-9 in such games. Perhaps the most exciting was the most recent, a dramatic 58-55 victory at Buffalo on Wednesday afternoon.
