Does Toledo men's basketball have a last stand in Cleveland?

If the University of Toledo has a last stand at the Mid-American Conference tournament, the turning point will be obvious: Tuesday night, an otherwise irrelevant loss amid a four-game losing streak.

The Rockets were down 24 points to Akron on Tuesday when they found their pride and went off for 63 second-half points on 73 percent shooting. It gave Toledo something to grasp at. But carrying over momentum has been difficult all season.

Not on Friday, as the Rockets continued their offensive assault to beat Ohio 96-82 in a feel-good regular-season finale at Savage Arena.

“That was obviously a really important game for us,” UT coach Tod Kowalczyk said.
