The Delp family’s relationship with the University of Toledo began in 1992 when John Delp was part of the founding group that established the UT Center for Family and Privately-Held Business, a wildly successful venture that has generated immense growth in northwest Ohio.
Cleves Delp, John’s son, was itching to develop a bond of his own with the hometown school. The Toledo native is immensely proud of where he came from and lives by the “Pay It Forward” mantra. A disconnect between the two parties, however, stalled a potential partnership.
Then Delp met Rockets football coach Jason Candle, and an avenue toward giving back was born.
