As soon as Dallas Gant announced that he would transfer to Toledo, Sept. 17 was circled on the calendar.
On Saturday, the former Ohio State linebacker will be back in Ohio Stadium to take on his former teammates. It’s the Buckeyes vs. Toledo, but the biggest storyline of the week is Gant returning to a place where he had a muddled career that didn’t end as planned.
Questionable defensive coaching contributed to Gant’s inability to break through with the Buckeyes, but he doesn’t look back in anger.
“My time at Ohio State made me the person I am today and allowed me to grow up into the man that I am,” said Gant, who had 54 tackles, 3½ tackles for loss, and a forced fumble in 39 career games for OSU.
