BOWLING GREEN — For a University of Toledo men's basketball team that was in desperate need of a break or two going its way, a controversial call at the end of the Battle of I-75 game went against them on Saturday afternoon at the Stroh Center in an 85-83 loss to Bowling Green.
The result was more frustration for the Rockets (11-13, 3-8 MAC) as they dropped their fifth straight game after a standout second-half effort gave them a chance against their rival.
After two clutch free throws from Toledo point guard Marreon Jackson tied the game at 83 with 14 seconds left, Bowling Green guard Justin Turner rose up for a jump shot near the right elbow as Toledo's Spencer Littleson contested.
