KENT, Ohio — In cold and wet conditions, the University of Toledo football team turned to its ground game in a 56-34 win over Kent State on Thursday night at Dix Stadium.
Redshirt freshman Bryant Koback and junior Art Thompkins had 100-plus yard rushing performances and each had two rushing touchdowns as the Rockets churned out 384 yards in the game on 49 carries.
Koback finished with 192 yards and Thompkins ended up with 122 yards.
Toledo was also helped by a punt return touchdown and a defensive touchdown as the Rockets improved to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
