Toledo, Ohio— Sophomore shortstop Chris Meyers has been named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Meyers led the Rockets at the plate over the weekend, hitting .538 during the three-game series at Winthrop. He reached base at least three times in all three games and helped UT take two out of three contests against the Eagles. Meyers tallied a career-high four hits in game two of the series, including a two-run home run, and had the go-ahead RBI in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
With the help of Meyers, Toledo had the highest batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage of any MAC team during opening weekend.
