Chris Bailey-Greene is back in Ohio, calling the unlikely story “a pipe dream turning into a real dream.”
The Cincinnati native was formally introduced as the University of Toledo’s first-ever women’s rowing coach on Wednesday, drawing a crowd of media, rowing community members, and athletic department employees to a standing-room-only news conference at the Nancy and James Lapp Creative Studio at Savage Arena.
“I never thought in my wildest imagination that I would ever be back in Ohio,” Bailey-Greene said.
He started out as a football player at powerhouse Cincinnati St. Xavier High School, transitioning to rowing when he realized college football wasn’t in his future.
